Mission & Ministry

Forming Young Men of Faith, Purpose, and Service

At Devon Prep, Mission and Ministry is woven into the everyday student experience. Rooted in the traditions and values of the Piarist Fathers, the program helps students grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and socially while developing a deeper understanding of faith, leadership, and service to others.

Through retreats, prayer experiences, liturgies, sacramental life, and service opportunities, students are encouraged to live lives grounded in humility, respect, patience, simplicity, and compassion. Mission and Ministry at Devon Prep is not simply an extracurricular experience. It is an essential part of how students are formed as young men prepared to lead with integrity and purpose.

A Faith Experience That Extends Beyond the Classroom

Students are given opportunities throughout the year to deepen their relationship with God, reflect on their personal growth, and strengthen their connection to the Devon Prep community.

Mission and Ministry programming includes:

These experiences encourage students to develop empathy, gratitude, and a greater awareness of the needs of others while building lifelong habits of service and reflection.

Retreats and Spiritual Formation

Retreats provide students with meaningful opportunities to step away from the pace of everyday life, reflect on their faith journey, and strengthen relationships with classmates and faculty mentors.

Middle School retreats introduce students to the values and traditions of the Devon Prep community through prayer, teamwork, reflection, and service.

As students progress through Upper School, retreat experiences become more intentional and leadership-focused, helping young men grow in confidence, character, and spiritual maturity.

Service Rooted in Action

Service is a cornerstone of the Devon Prep experience. Students are encouraged to actively live out the values they learn in the classroom through hands-on outreach opportunities that support local communities and organizations.

Mission and Ministry programs help students recognize the importance of compassion, responsibility, and servant leadership while developing a lifelong commitment to helping others.

Whether participating in service projects, outreach trips, fundraising initiatives, or school-wide ministry efforts, students learn that leadership begins with serving those around them.

Building Brotherhood Through Faith

Mission and Ministry strengthens the sense of brotherhood that defines the Devon Prep experience. Through shared prayer, retreats, liturgies, and service opportunities, students build lasting connections with one another while growing together in faith and character.

These experiences create a supportive environment where students feel known, valued, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves both inside and outside the classroom.

Living the Piarist Tradition

The Mission and Ministry program reflects the core values that have guided Devon Prep since its founding by the Piarist Fathers in 1956. Students are challenged to pursue academic excellence while remaining grounded in faith, humility, and service to others.

At Devon Prep, spiritual growth is not separate from the educational experience. It is part of forming young men who are prepared to lead meaningful lives guided by faith, compassion, and integrity.
